CBN tools Features

CBN, diamond hardness came in after. CBN is second only to diamond extremely hard tool material, material hardness greater than 48HRC usually work best when (CBN machining soft materials wear out quickly). High temperature to 2000 ℃ is also an excellent red hardness.  synthetic diamond more brittle than cemented carbide and the thermal and chemical stability than the ceramic, but it has a higher impact than the ceramic tool strength and crack resistance and low rigidity machine for cutting hard metal can. Furthermore, the proper custom CBN tools can withstand rough cutting power load, intermittent cutting blows and fine processing required for heat and wear resistance.

Appropriate for the specified customization processes including machine and fixture rigidity, edge grinding large enough to prevent microscopic peeling, and the tool base body is a grade with high content of CBN. High grade CBN content of these specified processes are required, because they have high speed under heavy load conditions edge processing requirements, and high thermal resistance and toughness for severe intermittent cutting. These properties make this material is used as a tool material grade roughing of hardened steel and pearlitic gray cast iron.

Low content of CBN and CBN content grade compared to more brittle, but they are better for hardened ferrous metal  Diamond blade . Their lower thermal conductivity and a relatively higher high-speed cutting and withstand the heat generated by the negative rake angle of the compressive strength. Cutting zone higher temperatures help soften the workpiece material and chip breaking, while negative rake angle enhancement tool, the cutting edge stability, improved tool life and allows depth of cut smaller than 0.25mm.

Because CBN tools to surface finish of better than 0.4μm and maintain concentricity ± 0.012mm, dry car hardened workpiece is usually an attractive alternative to dirty grinding the cooled solution strengthening. Although the CBN is a hard drive and high-speed milling particularly fond of tool material, but the ceramic and CBN have an amazing range of applications overlap, and therefore it is necessary to use cost - benefit analysis to decide who gets the best results.
